Distortion To Static

The life, times and ramblings of MasterCJ
Lesson 6 covered numbers and some of the intricacies therein. Japanese numbers of 10,000 and above are grouped by myriad boundary, as opposed to the thousand boundary used in the basic arabic counting systems most people are familiar with. Essentially the first four powers of 10 are the most varied, then following numbers can be described using a suffix on any lower number to denote power. Read on for a condensed list of numbers and their kanji/kana/romaji representations...
I missed tonight's lesson because I was a couple of minutes late (due to working until 7PM on stupid DBSU). When I called for someone to open the door for me, nobody answered. I was kind of frustrated after that and it really put me in a bad mood for a few hours. I'm alright now though, just a little disappointed.

EDIT: I've since caught up on this lesson, it covered mostly the particle "no", used for ownership or reference. It also touched on using the word "doko" to denote "which" as opposed to "where". Neil over at Japanese Melbourne handled the whole situation very professionally, personally calling to work it out and giving me a free catch-up lesson (entirely unprompted, I might add) to make up for the whole situation. I'm quite impressed and entirely satisfied with the outcome.
The last lesson I had was mostly revision and some additional exercises, not a lot of new ground covered. I'm probably going to start uploading scans of my homework so I can revise it sometime.
Had another Japanese lesson the other night. We covered referring to people {ko,so,a}no hito and {ko,so,a}chira. Got another one tonight, will try to write a better summary for it.

Trying to talk my mum through sorting out a windows profile issue. It's painful.

EDIT: Talked Zyklon into going around to fix it for her. :)
A Channel: First Impressions@ 15/05/11 03:23 pm
A Channel feels like Lucky Star all over again. Even the character design is similar. It's got the whole "nothing is really happening and nothing is going to happen" vibe to it. I can only hope that it degenerates into some kind of horrible nightmare scenario where the main characters are forced to kill their classmates or something.

EDIT: No such luck. I've downloaded 5 episodes of it already though, so I might as well watch what I have.
